HAUNTED PLACES OF PAKISTAN - HAUNTED PARKS OF PAKISTAN - TOP MOST 7 HAUNTED PARKS OF PAKISTAN

AN INTRODUCTION:

A park is a place where people can go to relax, exercise, and enjoy nature. It is a green space in the midst of urban development, providing a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. Parks are essential for the well-being of individuals and communities, offering a range of benefits that contribute to physical, mental, and social health.

One of the primary benefits of parks is their role in promoting physical activity. With open spaces for walking, jogging, cycling, and playing sports, parks provide opportunities for people to engage in exercise and stay active. Regular physical activity is essential for maintaining good health and preventing chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. By providing a safe and accessible environment for exercise, parks help individuals of all ages stay fit and healthy.

In addition to promoting physical health, parks also have a positive impact on mental well-being. Spending time in nature has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, improving overall mental health. The peaceful and serene environment of a park offers a welcome escape from the pressures of everyday life, allowing people to relax, unwind, and recharge. Whether it’s sitting on a bench and enjoying the scenery, taking a leisurely stroll through the trees, or having a picnic with friends and family, parks provide a tranquil setting for mental rejuvenation.

Furthermore, parks play a crucial role in fostering social connections and community cohesion. They serve as gathering places where people can come together, interact, and build relationships. Whether it’s meeting up with friends for a game of frisbee, attending a community event or festival, or simply striking up a conversation with a fellow park-goer, parks create opportunities for social engagement and connection. These interactions help strengthen social bonds, promote a sense of belonging, and enhance community spirit.

Moreover, parks contribute to environmental sustainability by preserving green spaces and promoting biodiversity. As urban areas continue to expand, parks serve as vital oases of greenery that help mitigate the effects of urbanization on the environment. They provide habitats for wildlife, support plant diversity, and help regulate air quality and temperature. By preserving and protecting these natural areas, parks play a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance and promoting environmental stewardship.

In addition to their physical, mental, social, and environmental benefits, parks also have economic advantages for communities. They enhance property values, attract tourists and visitors, and stimulate local businesses. Parks create jobs, generate revenue, and contribute to the overall economic vitality of a region. Moreover, they provide a cost-effective way to promote public health and well-being, reducing healthcare costs associated with sedentary lifestyles and mental health issues.

But here are some parks of Pakistan which are hauntedly reported. First we name them and you'll discuss them in sequence.

A park in DHA SOCIETY LAHORE also exists which is occupied by an unknown alien, known as the GHOUL (a bad spirit). A team of WKH program (Woh kia hai) visited in 2014. This Park is also HAUNTED. Nobody dares to move in the said park after sunset. Strange voices of the Ghoul can easily be heard by the nearby residents of the said Park at late night. WHAT IS DHA:-

Defence: Housing Authority
Location: Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan
Opening: 19 March 1975
Website: dhalahore.org
Companies: XXXXX
Owner: Pakistan Army

The Defence Housing Authority, Lahore (DHA Lahore) is a housing society located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. Much like Askari Housing Society, Lahore, DHA too was originally built for army officers (as Civil & Defence Officers Cooperative Housing Society and later as Lahore Cantonment Cooperative Housing Society - LCCHS), but soon it became a Housing Scheme for all people. The area has also undergone extensive gentrification, bringing in a more wealthy base. The recent influx of population from the adjoining areas has also given birth to a number of problems and the crime rate has also gone up. As a result of this, DHA guards have stepped up patrolling.

During the past five years, developers have claimed extraterritorial land, which has increased new development in the area. New developments include a world-class golf resort in partnership with Bandar Raya of Malaysia in Phase 6 of DHA and a shopping and office complex in partnership with Global Haly of the United Kingdom in Phase 2 of DHA.

DHA encompasses two famous shopping centres, known as the 'Y-block' market and the 'H-block' market. Y-block has also had the honor of playing host to one of Lahore's very first tattoo shop as well. DHA Y Block also has a Sports Club, gym, and a large commercial swimming pool (design, execution and supply & installation of pool equipment by Jopic Pool)and other sports facilities for the community. DHA Lahore main office was also located at Phase III, Sector Y but the management has decided to relocate the office at Phase VI, Sector A, just to accommodate number of people, who visit office on daily basis. There are other smaller commercial markets in DHA- like T block which has many cafes - like Hot spot, Jammin - Java and various other salons. T block commercial area also has the very first swimming pool & spa equipment display center called Olympic Pool. Two international standard sports complexes have been planned in the area and construction has started on the projects as of 2011.

2ND - KACHNAR PARK, SECTOR I-8, ISLAMABAD

Kachnar Park is also famous for being possessed by the supernatural. Many try to challenge the rumors about the park, but many have witnessed paranormal activities. People out for jogs in the park have reported seeing people sitting under huge trees who disappear by the time you take a second look. Officials have also never carried out investigations over the incidents, which only reinforces these beliefs.

Blast at a Crowded Park in Lahore, Pakistan, Kills Dozens

A suicide bomber set off a powerful blast close to a children’s swing set in a public park on Sunday 2016 evening in the western city of Lahore, killing at least 69 people and wounding around 300, rescue workers and officials said.

The blast occurred in a parking lot at Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, one of the largest parks in Lahore, said Haider Ashraf, a senior police official in the city. The bomb was detonated within several feet of the swings in a park crowded with families on Easter.

Jamaat-e-Ahrar, a splinter faction of the Pakistani Taliban, claimed responsibility for the blast. Its spokesman, Ehsanullah Ehsan, said in a statement that Christians were the target. The Jamaat-e-Ahrar spokesman, Mr. Ehsan, said the bombing “was also to give a message to government that it cannot deter us even in their stronghold, Lahore.” Lahore, the capital of Punjab Province, is the hometown of Pakistan’s prime minister, Nawaz Sharif; his younger brother, Shahbaz Sharif, is the chief minister of the province. Even though Pakistani officials rebutted the claim that Christians were the target, a large number of Christian families were in the park because of the Easter holiday, the local news media reported. The 67-acre park has walking paths, as well as rides for children.

As the country reeled from this latest spasm of violence, the civilian and military leadership huddled separately to deal with the precipitating sense of crisis. Prime Minister Sharif held a four-hour meeting with his top ministers while Gen. Raheel Sharif, the army chief, who is not related to the prime minister or his brother, directed intelligence agencies to investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice. Victims described a scene of chaos and devastation soon after the blast.

“I was standing near the roller coaster when the blast occurred,” said a 10-year-old boy who gave his name as Usman Ghani, and who was being treated for minor injuries at Shaikh Zayed Hospital. “I saw fire afterward. There were a lot of people in the park. It was so crowded that people had to break the boundary wall near the gate to cross over and run away.”

“I wish I hadn’t brought my daughter to the park today,” said Kamran Bhatti, 34, a frequent visitor to the park. “This is the only recreation we can afford for her. What is her fault?”

He continued: “While we were running out of the park, my daughter slipped and rolled over. She’s injured, but I thank my God that we are not crying for a lost child.”

His daughter, 7, was being treated for an injury to her leg at Jinnah Hospital on Sunday night. Yousaf Masih, 50, who said he is Christian, said: “We came to the park after the Easter church services. We brought our food basket along with us, and like the usual outing on our festivals, we were spending our day.”

“There was a lot of rush due to Easter,” Mr. Masih said, adding that “a majority” of the people in that area of the park were Christian. “My children were playing cricket when we heard a huge blast on the main gate of the park. It was mayhem. Everyone was running for their lives. On our way out, we saw the body of the suicide bomber in the parking area.”

Others said security at the park was lax.

“There was no security, as such, at the gates,” said Azhar Shah, 23, a student. “The guard sitting at the main gate was not checking anyone.”

Mr. Ashraf, the police official, said of the park: “It was a soft target. Innocent women and children and visitors from other cities have been targeted.”

The State Department condemned the attack. “Attacks like these only deepen our shared resolve to defeat terrorism around the world, and we will continue to work with our partners in Pakistan and across the region to combat the threat of terrorism,” it said in a statement.

Another news said that:

At least 72 people were killed and more than 233 injured when a suicide bomb ripped through the parking space of a crowded park in Lahore where Christians were celebrating Easter Sunday, officials said. Dozens of ambulances were seen racing to the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, situated near Allama Iqbal Town, with many women and children among the dead and wounded. Rescue spokesperson Deeba Shahbaz said the toll had risen to 72 Monday, with 29 children among the dead. Senior police official Haider Ashraf confirmed the number killed, adding the majority of the dead were Muslims, AFP reported.

"Christians were not the specific target of this attack because the majority of the dead are Muslims," he said. "Everybody goes to this park."

Lahore's top administration official Muhammad Usman said 233 were wounded. Late Sunday rescue officials had put the number of injured at more than 300.

THIS PARK IS ALSO HAUNTED BY THE SPIRITS OF THESE DEAD PEOPLE. The nearby residents says that voices of these dead people can be heard after 10 pm here in this park. Some residents also have witnessed apparitions of headless and wounded spirits in this part around 10PM. Mostly the Christians were celebrating and enjoying their Easter in this park. The presence of their dead souls make this park HAUNTED TOO, after 10 PM till sunrise. Sometimes the sound of church’s bells also been heard in this park at late night by the nearby residents. This park is haunted since 2016 just after the bomb blast.

4TH - HAUNTED HILL PARK OF KARACHI, THE KIDNEY HILL PARK, MERAJ AMUSEMENT PARK, KARACHI

If you have visited Hill Park, Karachi of many years ago, you may remember the presence of a haunted house inside Meraj Amusement Park. It was a small igloo shaped structure covered in bougainvillea and on the entrance there was a plaque displaying just two words: bhoot bangla (The Ghost House). When I first heard of this haunted house, my friends and I became very excited and we decided to check it out. One fateful evening in 1981, we reached Hill Park around dusk time. At the entrance of that haunted house, we saw a 6-feet-tall, 3-feet-wide, and 2-feet-deep human being who was issuing entry tickets of the Meraj Amusement Park. He had six inch long moustaches and with a sinking sun in the background, his silhouetted image appeared like a complete ‘bhoot’ (ghost) in itself.

I was only 10 years old at that time and to me this 6 x 3 x 2 = 36 cubic feet voluminous guy looked like a ghost. My friends and I immediately gave him the nick name of Mr. bhoot. (Mr. Ghost). After issuing tickets, Mr. bhoot placed us in a straight line and for some unknown reason, he told me stand in the front of the line.

My situation was such that I was shivering with anticipation of an impending horror. He then told us you can enter in the haunted house, at your own risk.

A dark night, fear of unknown and a giant ghost-cum-human were looking scary all right. Suddenly from left side something came flying in the air and hit one of my friends right on his face. It was a human arm, torn apart from the shoulder blade and soaked in blood. All of us shrieked in horror, but my friend who got hit was so scared that he grabbed onto this flying object as a reflex action and didn’t let go of it.

We were too scared to look down while walking incase some other flying object decided to come our way. We saw some human skulls, bones and a few dead bodies as appartion lying around.

One dead body was looking wrapped in a white kafan and was moving slowly from lying-down position to sitting-up position. Since there was no Zero-watt bulb glowing under this dead body and the approximate dead area of this body was 36 cubic feet, we guessed it must be the same Mr. bhoot pulling yet another stunt on us. So we acted cool and didn’t give him any reaction. The anti-climax of that moving arm scene earlier had removed all fear from us and we knew if any thing moved, it was probably Mr. bhoot himself. The bhoot guy probably gave up on trying to scare us any further as very soon the ‘cyclone’ music stopped and it was the queue for us to get out.

The management of this haunted house was probably very poor because the same guy who had issued us entrance tickets, operated the music player, pulled the string to hurl the arm across visitors and then wore a white sheet to become a dead body.

The total time we spent inside haunted house was probably 5 minutes but that fun memory has lasted with me fore more than 25 years now and I recall every detail as if it happened just yesterday.

THIS HILL PARK OF KARACHI IS HAUNTED DUE TO ONLY ONE THIS HAUNTED HOUSE.

A NEARBY RESIDENT TOLD HIS STORY...

5TH - DEOSAI NATIONAL PARK, ON THE ROOF TOP OF PAKISTAN

Deosai National Park is majestic as Wordsworth took down the poem for Deosai. After a tire, some long journey through high mountains, valleys, remote villages and hills; I saw Deosai national park for the first time.

I am not exaggerating as one must see Deosai at-least once in life as Deosai national park and lake of Shoeshar are extreme beauty and art Work of Gods perfection.

Century ago, such places were often referred to as inhabitant and dangerous and were not visited. They had strange names showcasing the fear of humans.

Time has really changed now. A modern era where humans are leading a very tough life in modern built cities with lots of gadgets around. Tons of people are visiting the northern areas of Pakistan.

People are fast enduring wealth and power but not having many facilities to attain peace of mind. The Deosai National Park is one to visit to relax and see the sublime beauty of the Northern areas of Pakistan.

Deosai National Park is the amalgamation of two words ‘Deo’ (giant) and ‘Sai’ (shadow). For decades, there is the myth that this place is haunted by giants or jinns, thus the name ‘The Land of the Giants’ came into being. But you know that the jinns live in and around the mountains. Its definitely haunted. The weather in Deosai national park is quite unpredictable here, sometimes it starts snowing in summer. Sunlight and clouds seem to play hide and seek here, with the sun shining one minute, and overcast in next.

Deosai national park has a deafening silence, a silence spanning millions of years. The silence is so rooted that one can hear his own heartbeat unless a marmot’s whistle mesmerizes in the Valley.

Deosai is positioned on the boundary of the Karakoram and the western Himalayas, and at no point, it is less than 4000 meters above sea level. It is mostly covered with snow for 8 months. The rest of the year, it hosts a range of beautiful flowers of all hues and colours, but you won’t find any tree in this plateau spread over 3000 sq. km.

There are multiple springs in Deosai, beaming with trout fish serving as food for locals and bears alike. 5000 meter high mountains in the backdrop, wildlife spreading in these mountains, clouds so low that one can almost touch them, Himalayan Golden eagles flying between the clouds, and a feminist fragrance in the atmosphere which probably is a mixture of brown bears, red foxes, white tigers, and naughty marmots — this is the real beauty of Deosai.

A mountain road from Skardu Bazaar elevates to the Sadpara village. From this scenic curvy road, Sadpara lake seems so beautiful, that the onlookers forget to even blink. Soon comes the Sadpara village, where the local children have conspired with nature to stop the vehicles.

A spring flowing through the road has broken it, slowing down the cars, and as soon as a vehicle slows down, local children stop them to sell cherries and other local fruits.

When the village is left behind, the road becomes unbalanced, and increasing height puts pressure on your ears. High mountains on one side, and depths on the other side — it is enough to stop the heartbeat of the first-time visitor. But when you are done with the journey, such a scene awaits you, which can neither be described in words nor can it be entirely captured in photographs.

7TH - SHALIMAR GARDENS, SHALIMAR LINK ROAD, LAHORE

INTRODUCTION OF SHALIMAR GARDENS, SHALIMAR LINK ROAD, LAHORE

The Arain Mian Family Baghbanpura was the original owner of the site where the garden complex is located. The Mughal emperor Shah Jahan conferred the royal title “Mian” to the family for their services to the Mughal Empire.

Mian Muhammad Yusuf, the head of the family during that time handed over the site of Ishaq Pura to Shah Jahan as pressure was mounted by the royal engineers who planned to construct on the site due to its soil conditions and good location. Shah Jahan granted the governance of the Shalimar gardens to the Arain Mian family in return. The family remained the custodian of the gardens for more than 350 years.

General Ayub Khan nationalized the Shalimar Gardens in 1962 as because the leading family members of the Arain Mian family opposed the imposition of martial law by the General in Pakistan. General Ayub Khan also ordered the closure of the Mela Chiraghan festival use to be held in the gardens in 1958.

The Shalimar Gardens are a beautiful Mughal-era garden complex located in Lahore. Built during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan, the gardens are known for their beauty and are a popular tourist attraction. However, they are also known for being haunted.

SHALIMAR GARDENS HAUNTED, SHALIMAR LINK ROAD, LAHORE
Visitors have reported seeing apparitions, hearing strange noises, and feeling a sense of unease while walking through the gardens at night. Legend has it that the ghosts are the spirits of the Mughal emperors and their families who once walked through the gardens. Some have even claimed to have seen the ghosts of Emperor Shah Jahan.
